Lelouch Lamperouge (vi Britannia) 2/2

Blank Personality: The beginning of Code Geass: R2 actually provides us with a canon example of Lelouch with his important memories wiped, including his lineage, his sister, and being Zero, which are more or less the summation of Lelouch’s driving motivations. That said, Lelouch without his memories is a sweet, awkward boy that absolutely dotes on his family and enjoys nothing more than cooking, cleaning, and interior decorating (though this is kind of true of Lelouch normally—it’s just that world domination is unfortunately time-consuming). He is polite and fairly quiet, friendly, but a little distant. He’s easily bullied into things and while he’s still incredibly intelligent, without anywhere to channel it he can be a little restless and aimless. He’s a lover, not a fighter: he’ll likely hate most games, and be the one left in the cave to meticulously iron clothing rather than go hunting.

Writing Sample:

The first thing to do, he decided, was to think about this rationally, and to just stay calm.

He had no idea why he was here, or where here was, or, really, who he was, either. He had a vague sense that this should feel stranger than it did. But the voice in the telescope had told him to keep his head about things—he would undoubtedly, absolutely find a way out of this, and it was completely necessary. He had sounded so self-assured, the type of person that was more than used to being obeyed under any circumstances.

(The voice had sounded familiar, too, but for the life of him, he couldn’t imagine how. He couldn’t remember anything—how could anything be familiar? It didn’t make sense.)

He walked around the room a few times, carefully examining everything, memorizing little details as if doing so would start to replace the emptiness inside his head. Pillow. Blankets. He smoothed down the sheets and carefully tucked the blankets in. He wasn’t sure why. It just looked better that way, and he felt strangely pleased.

When he was done, and the room hadn’t changed any, he spent another few minutes with the telescope. “I do this willingly,” the voice had said.

He still wasn’t sure what “this” was, but now that he was sufficiently prepared, perhaps it was time to find out.
